Bartholomew Roberts known as Black Bart was an officer of a slave ship called the Princess. He was forced into Piracy when his ship was captured in 1719. After the death of his captain, Roberts embrace is new role as captain by stating if he had to be a pirate, it was better to be captain. Black Bart was also known to sail under at least four different flags. In the three years between 1719 and 1722, Roberts captured and looted over 400 vessels, terrorizing merchant ships. To be a proper pirate captain like Black Bart you need as much practice as possible before heading out on the high seas and this wooden sword is the perfect tool to practice with. Hand crafted from steamed beach wood with a finely carved blood groove to help distribute the weight of the blade, this exquisite piece is also perfect for cosplay costume or LARP use. Measuring 29 inches long overall with a 5.5 inch long protective guard and 6 inch long handle, this wooden sword is very thick (10 mm) and solid to the core. This sword is also the perfect gift for that child who wants to be a pirate at heart.
