Three overlapping triangles form the Valknut symbol. It is known in two versions in the Viking world. The Borromean shape is composed of three interlocking yet distinct triangles, whereas the unicursal form is composed of a single line. However, because they exist in the same archaeological settings, these are most likely variants of the same sign.
